The OXLEY is a self-stabilizing light wind sail for downwind and half-wind courses, usable from 4 ktn and up to approx. 20 ktn wind. The special feature of the OXLEY is its wing in the upper segment of the sail, which keeps the sail shape stable and generates lift at the bow.
OXLEY offers two variants: The Levante with a single wing for cruising in the lightest winds and up to max. speed. approx. 15 ktn apparent wind and the Bora with a double profiled wing for longer strokes in wind forces up to 20 ktn apparent wind. The Bora has a slightly flatter cut than the Levante and, if trimmed correctly, allows courses of up to 40° downwind.

Operating the OXLEY is very simple: the sail is pulled up the mast with the spinnaker halyard in a tube. The sail opens by pulling up the tube with an endless line. The sail is retracted by pulling down the tube; an inflated ring at the lower end allows the sail to slide easily into the tube. Setting and retrieving can be carried out by one person for sails up to approx. 150 square meters.

The sail itself is guided by four lines, which all run through to the stern of the ship and are adjusted there using winches. At the front are the tie-downs, which are used to adjust the height of the OXLEY. They are guided via two blocks at the bow. The sheets are located on the starboard and port sides and are guided via barber rails, which can be attached to the center cleats, for example. This means that the OXLEY can be trimmed at any time to suit the wind conditions and courses of 180° to approx. 40° can be set. Jibes can be ridden slowly or quickly as required. In general, the OXLEY can be handled by one person without any problems.
